Michael Goodwin

Michael has over 30 years experience as a commercial and insurance litigator.  He has been a Partner of National Firms in Australia and operated his own practice and businesses.  He acts strategically to get results for his clients.  A strong advocate, Michael regularly appears as Counsel in the National & Supreme Courts.


Daniel Bidar


Qualifications: LLM (Melbourne), LLB. Hons, (UPNG)

Admissions: Papua New Guinea

Daniel has over ten years practice experience in resource litigation, insurance litigation and judicial review of government conduct. He has acted for both insured defendants and plaintiffs across a range of liability matters including motor vehicle, shipping and professional negligence. He has acted in numerous claims associated with access to resources including forestry, mining and petroleum resources and run numerous judicial review cases against State administrative decisions.

Daniel Ward


Qualifications: LLB (Griffith), B.Int Bus (Griffith)

Admissions: Queensland, Papua New Guinea

Daniel has ten years experience having worked in the Australian and PNG offices to two large multi-national legal firms. He is also a published author with CCH (a Wolters Kluwer business) and continues to provide written commentary on PNG law.

Having spent his childhood in Papua New Guinea, Daniel speaks Tok Pisin fluently. His experience includes mergers and acquisitions, advice in relation to mining and energy resources, preparing certifications for foreign-owned companies and commercial negotiations.


Bobby Nutley


Qualifications: LLB (Hons) UPNG

Admissions: Papua New Guinea

Bobby practices in the commercial litigation section, and regularly appears as Counsel in Court. His main practice areas include banking & finance litigation, insurance law, insolvency actions, construction and property litigation, contractual breaches and general commercial disputes. He also advises on judicial review of administrative actions.



Amira Ward


Qualifications: LLB (Hons), BA (Monash)

Admissions: Queensland, Papua New Guinea

Amira practices in our commercial team. She has extensive experience in commercial and intellectual property law, including drafting and advising clients on contracts, settlement deeds, loan agreements, shareholder’s agreements and advising and acting in relation to domain name infringements.

As a commercial property lawyer, Amira has experience in management rights, commercial leases, retail shop leases, put and call option agreements, off the plan contracts, vacant land sales and subdivisions.

Alu Konena


Qualification: LLB (UPNG)

Admission: Papua New Guinea

Alu practices in the general and commercial litigation sections. He has a broad practice with a focus on assisting senior lawyers in the conduct of legal proceedings and preparing matters for trial.

Teona Ivano


Qualification: LLB (UPNG)

Admission: Papua New Guinea

Teona practices in the general and commercial litigation sections. He originally trained as a crown prosecutor with the Department of Public Prosecutions.


Flora Genia

Flora has spent over 19 years in a variety of commercial litigation roles with several firms. Her meticulous attention to detail in claims preparation and discovery ensures that client interests are advanced in the best possible manner.


Maika Polana

Maika has spent over 15 years dealing with property and banking transactions. Previously he worked in the securities preparation department of Papua New Guinea’s largest bank, Bank of South Pacific.

Josephine Mee

Josephine is the Chief Operating Officer.  She originally trained and entered the British Civil Service before being transferred to Papua New Guinea with her husband 40 years ago.  She has become fluent in many local languages and has a unique understanding of the environment in which the firm operates.
